FTAI IVEP Beef & Dairy
This division operates fundamentally out of Brazil, Venezuela and Panama, where it handles livestock reproductive projects and consulting for clients. The office in Londrina, Brazil develops livestock reproductive projects through Fixed Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) for multiple important ranches in the country including a herd of 50.000 annual wombs. In Venezuela there is a beef production ranch called Agropecuaria CARFRAN c.a. (Mata Redonda Ranch) that has 3.000 heads. It develops its own FTAI projects and IVF and it participates in the most important national and international livestock fairs and competitions.
Currently, FIRMASA Group is discussing the possible creation of a strategic joint venture partnership with the Venezuelan government for the development of prime genetic livestock projects in the public sector (150,000 sows). This joint venture would also offer FTAI (Fixed Time Artificial Insemination) and IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) services to private farmers in Venezuela. Negotiations for the joint venture are underway between FIRMASA Group and Corporacion Venezolana de Alimentos – CVAL (Venezuelan government institution in charge of the government livestock projects and a large part of government food purchases in the international market to meet rising domestic demand.
FIRMASA group is one of the owners of an In-Vitro Fertilization laboratory in Panama, which provides these services to farmers in Central America, the Caribbean and Northern South America. FIRMASA Group established an association with 2 of the largest Genetics companies: Alta Genetics Brasil and In Vitro Brasil SA.
